Regular Season Round 19: Royal Hali - Turk Telekom 88-77

An interesting game took place in Gaziantep where higher ranked Turk Telekom (9-10) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Royal Hali (8-11) 88-77 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Turk Telekom. The game was mostly controlled by Royal Hali. Turk Telekom was better in fourth quarter 30-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side Latvian point guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) responded with 12 points and 6 assists and the former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) scored 16 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Royal Hali moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Royal Hali will face higher ranked Darussafaka (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
