Second Stage Round 5: Dynamo-NPU - Interkhim 69-49

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Interkhim (2-1) in Kyiv on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Dynamo-NPU (3-0) 69-49. It was a key game for the top position in League. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo-NPU. Interkhim managed to win fourth quarter 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Interkhim to just 4 points in first quarter. Dynamo-NPU forced 19 Interkhim turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dynamo-NPU made 8 blocks. The former international forward Oksana Kisilova (188-88) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international forward Natalia Zherzherunova (183-79) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Kateryna Kovalyova (185-89) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Natalia Kolotovska (174-90) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Dynamo-NPU maintains first place in League with 3-0 record. Interkhim at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Dynamo-NPU are looking forward to face Blyskavky (#4) in Vinnytsia in the next round. Interkhim will play at home against Chaika and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
