The game in Galati supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked ICIM Arad (18-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Galati (13-11). ICIM Arad smashed Galati 91-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. ICIM Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Galati's 26. ICIM Arad forced 26 Galati turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by American guard Meighan Simmons (175-92, college: Tennessee) who scored that evening 21 points and the other American import guard Monica Engelman (180-91, college: Kansas) supported her with 17 points and 4 assists. Five ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds by American center Chelsey Lee (193-89, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Galati. International point guard Gabriela Cursaru (169-92) added 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ICIM Arad have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Galati lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. ICIM Arad will meet Brasov (#6) on the road in the next round. Galati will play against Alexandria and hope to secure a win.
