Second Stage Round 2: Amager - Horsholm 89-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Horsholm (1-1) in Kastrup on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Amager (2-0) 89-82. Horsholm was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-16 charge of Amager, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Maria Dinesen (170-90) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Forward Line Piechnik (171-90) responded with 25 points and 5 assists and American center Joy Burke (196-90, college: Arizona St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Horsholm's coach Roberto Velosa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Amager are looking forward to face Lemvig (#4) at home in the next round. Horsholm will play against Stevnsgade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
