Second Stage Round 5: Suzirja - Chaika 92-75

Suzirja has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Chaika (1-3) 92-75. The game without a history. Suzirja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Oleksandra Popenko (170-98) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists for the winning side and Svitlana Boiarchuk (174-99) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Suzirja players scored in double figures. Center Olga Yatskovets (183-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds and guard Nadia Teleshyk (173-95) added 14 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Chaika in the defeat. Suzirja left bottom position moving up to fifth place in League. Suzirja will play against higher ranked Frankivsk (#3) in Ivano-Frankivsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chaika will play on the road against the league's second-placed Interkhim in Odessa to get more than just one victory in their record.
