Date: February 15, 2015
Bottom-ranked CD Torres N. managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of five consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they outleveled eleventh-ranked Alges in Torres Novas 68-44. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference suggests that CD Torres N. is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They also forced 26 Alges turnovers. American guard Rachel Story (170-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners and her fellow American import center Jade Barber (188-89, college: E.Kentucky) chipped in 18 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Carolina Goncalves (173-97) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Chelsea Guimaraes (189-97) scored 8 points and 15 rebounds. Alges' coach Alberto Saraiva gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. CD Torres N. (3-14) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Academico FC and Alges. Alges lost their eleventh game in a row. CD Torres N. will meet higher ranked Boa Viagem (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alges will play against AD Vagos (#5) and hope to secure a win.
