Regular Season Round 19: CSU Sibiu - Steaua CSM 79-84

Liga Nationala top team - Steaua CSM (15-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked CSU Sibiu (8-9) 84-79. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. CSU Sibiu was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for American Bill Amis (206-87, college: Hawaii) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian guard Pankracije Barac (196-81, agency: Court Side) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American swingman LeRoy Hurd (202-80, college: UTSA) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian swingman Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: Beo Basket) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for CSU Sibiu in the defeat. Four Steaua CSM and five CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures. Steaua CSM have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. CSU Sibiu lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Targu Mures. Steaua CSM will play against U-Banca TR (#5) in Cluj in the next round. CSU Sibiu will play on the road against Timba Timosoara in Timisoara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
