Very expected game when 7th ranked Barmer TV (8-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Osnabruck (13-4) 70-55 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. Osnabruck forced 22 Barmer TV turnovers and outrebounded them 47-23 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canadian swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Juliane Hoehne (189-83, college: IPFW) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Osnabruck players scored in double figures. Osnabruck's coach Christian Kaiser allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Paige Sickmiller (175, college: Wayne St., MI) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Chantal Neuwald (180-95) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Osnabruck keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Veilchen. Newly promoted Barmer TV keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Osnabruck will face Hagen Phoenix (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barmer TV will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#3) and hope to win that game.
