Not a big story in a game in Kayseri where 10th ranked Socar Petkim (11-11) was defeated by sixth ranked Meliksah (14-8) 84-78. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 21-12 last quarter charge of Socar Petkim cut the lead to 84-78 at the end of the game. American point guard Leemire Goldwire (182-85, college: Charlotte, agency: Two Points) notched 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Tyler Smith (201-86, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Socar Petkim. American-DR Congolese center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) added 21 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Five Meliksah and four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Socar Petkim's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Meliksah have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Meliksah maintains sixth position with 14-8 record. Socar Petkim at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Meliksah's next round opponent will be Mamak DSI (#13) in Ankara and are hoping to win another game. Socar Petkim will play at home against Pertevniyal (#16) and hope to win that game.
