Second Stage Round 10: Vilniaus - Zalgiris II 82-73

The biggest surprise took place in Vilnius where host Vilniaus (12-22) beat league's leader Zalgiris II (17-17) 82-73 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zalgiris II. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Vitalijus Luksa (206-86) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Laurynas Birutis (210-97) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vilniaus moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Silute. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the second position with 17 games lost. They share it with Zanavykas and Palanga. They were replaced at the leadership position by Perlas-MRU. Zalgiris II will play next round against JAZZ-Diremta trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas - JAZZ-Diremta. Vilniaus will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Rasai in Raseiniai.
