Very important is a road loss of second ranked Suduva-Mantinga (21-12) against fifth ranked Nafta-Uni. (18-15) on Friday night. Visiting Suduva-Mantinga was defeated by Nafta-Uni. in a tough game in Klaipeda 78-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Suduva-Mantinga. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-78. Nafta-Uni. outrebounded Suduva-Mantinga 42-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Tadas Mazelis (194-92) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nafta-Uni. maintains fifth position with 18-15 record. Loser Suduva-Mantinga dropped to the third place with 12 games lost. Nafta-Uni. will meet higher ranked Trakai (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Zanavykas and hope to secure a win.
