Second Stage Round 11: Palanga - Delikatesas 109-79

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Palanga (18-17) rolled over at home 8th ranked Delikatesas (17-17) 109-79. The game without a history. Palanga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 65.1 percent from the field. Palanga shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 70.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Delikatesas' players. It was a great evening for American forward Travis Garrison (203-84, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Deividas Anuzis (184-92) helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Palanga's coach Paulius Barkus felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Paulius Klemas (186-91) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Palanga moved-up to eighth place. Delikatesas at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II. Palanga will play against Zalgiris II (#9) in Kaunas in the next round. Delikatesas will play on the road against Rasai in Raseiniai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
