There was no surprise when 10th ranked TSV Amicitia (5-13) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Friendsfactory Germering (7-11) 75-67 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-14. But TSV Amicitia won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Friendsfactory Germering made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely TSV Amicitia outrebounded Friendsfactory Germering 47-31 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. TSV Amicitia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Magdalena von Geyr (180-84) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Jezabel Ohanian (170-77) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Friendsfactory Germering's coach Ruediger Wichote used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jennifer Mocanu (172-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and swingman Neele Steinort (181-97) added 19 points respectively. Friendsfactory Germering maintains eighth position in South with 7-11 record. Loser TSV Amicitia keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Friendsfactory Germering will face Muenchen B. (#11) on the road in the next round. TSV Amicitia will play against the league's leader Don Bosco Bamberg where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
