Regular Season Round 23: Goettingen - Walter Tigers 115-112
Date: February 21, 2015
Very expected game when 15th ranked Walter Tigers (7-16) were edged on the road by eleventh ranked BG Goettingen (11-12) 115-112 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. BG Goettingen made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Walter Tigers were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import power forward Raymar Morgan (202-88, college: Michigan St.) contributed with 27 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian guard Branislav Ratkovica (192-85, agency: Beo Basket) added 18 points and 8 assists in the effort for Walter Tigers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. BG Goettingen moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Walter Tigers keep the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. BG Goettingen will face higher ranked ratiopharm Ulm (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Walter Tigers will play against Artland Dragons (#10) and hope to win that game.
