Bottom-ranked Crailsheim Merlins managed to get a fourth victory on Saturday night. This time they edged twelfth-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels 87-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mitteldeutscher BC. Crailsheim Merlins made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Garrett Sim (185-90, college: Oregon) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 assists. Swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland) accounted for 19 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side. Guard Frantz Massenat (193-92, college: Drexel) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Beckham Wyrick (198-83, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Mitteldeutscher BC in the defeat. Four Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins maintains eighteenth place with 4-19 record. Loser Mitteldeutscher BC keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will meet at home higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#14) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt and hope to secure a win.
