Regular Season Round 20: BC Timisoara - Pitesti 88-79

Date: February 21, 2015
The game in Timisoara was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Pitesti (11-8) played at the court of sixth ranked BC Timisoara (11-8). BC Timisoara managed to secure a 9-point victory 88-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pitesti. It looked good early as Pitesti took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Timisoara had a 25-18 second period charge getting the lead and Pitesti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-88. BC Timisoara made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Pitesti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Bosnian point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, agency: Beo Basket) who scored that evening 29 points and Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five BC Timisoara players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech, agency: LUMANI 10.7) did not help to save the game for Pitesti. Serbian forward Mirko Kovac (199-83) added 15 points for the guests. BC Timisoara moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oradea and Pitesti. BC Timisoara's next round opponent will be higher ranked U-Banca TR (#3) in Cluj and it may be the game of the week.
