Everything could happen in Sandersdorf at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Hertener Loewen and 12th ranked Sixers had identical 8-13 record. But Sixers were not able to use a home court advantage and were edged by the opponent from Herten 66-65 on Sunday night. American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) stepped up and scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Adrian Hill (203-84, college: Rutgers) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian point guard Tristan Blackwood (183-85) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hertener Loewen (9-13) moved-up to twelfth place in Group North. Sixers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Hertener Loewen will face higher ranked Itzehoe (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sixers will play against Recklinghausen (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
