Everything went according to plan in Langen where ninth ranked Rhein MB II (6-12) won against 12th ranked Trier (1-17) 69-55 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-55. Rhein MB II outrebounded Trier 51-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Alexandra Chili (183-90, college: Muhlenberg) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Anna Schlaefcke (170-93) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Leonie Edringer (182-95) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Iris Jodes (179-86) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Rhein MB II maintains ninth position in South with 6-12 record. Trier lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Rhein MB II will face higher ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Trier will play against Weiterstadt (#7) and hope to win that game.
