Regular Season Round 18: Hannover - Lichterfelde 83-63

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Lichterfelde (9-9) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Hannover (8-10) 83-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hannover led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hannover forced 19 Lichterfelde turnovers and outrebounded them 49-29 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hannover looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Lichterfelde's players. The best player for the winners was forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Rayven Johnson (176-91, college: NJIT) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Hannover players scored in double figures. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Satou Sabally (189-98) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and Lena Gohlisch (173-93) added 16 points respectively. Hannover moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Lichterfelde keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Hannover will face higher ranked SG BBZ Opladen (#5) in Leverkusen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
