Regular Season Round 23: Svendborg - Naestved 79-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Svendborg's (14-8) home victory over 5th ranked Naestved (11-12) 79-74. Naestved was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 29-19 third quarter run of Svendborg. It was a great evening for Argentinian-Italian point guard Antonio Porta (187-83, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 assists. The former international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 10 points. Svendborg's coach Craig Pedersen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. South African center Christopher Gabriel (210-88, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Alexander Bak (193-91) scored 21 points. Four Naestved players scored in double figures. Svendborg moved-up to third place, which they share with Wolfpack. Naestved lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Randers. Svendborg will play against Vaerlose (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Naestved will play against Horsholm (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
