Very predictable result when seventh ranked Gelisim (13-10) rolled over on the road 14th ranked ITU Istanbul (8-15) 79-58. The game was mostly controlled by Gelisim. ITU Istanbul was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Gelisim had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Erdi Gulaslan helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Jayme Miller (203-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gelisim maintains seventh place with 13-10 record. ITU Istanbul lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Mamak DSI. Gelisim will play against higher ranked Sakarya BSB (#3) in Sakaraya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ITU Istanbul will play on the road against Adanaspor (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
