Regular Season Round 27: Wels - Zepter Vienna 81-90

An interesting game for Zepter Vienna (20-7) which played road game in Wels against 3rd placed Raiffeisen Wels (17-10). First ranked Zepter Vienna managed to get a 9-point victory 90-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Raiffeisen Wels. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Raiffeisen Wels won third quarter 29-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Amin Stevens (201-90, college: Florida A&M) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Tremaine Ford (207-86, college: CS Northridge) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Zepter Vienna and four Raiffeisen Wels players scored in double figures. Zepter Vienna maintains first place with 20-7 record. Raiffeisen Wels at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Gmunden. Zepter Vienna will play against Kapfenberg Bulls (#5) on the road in the next round. Raiffeisen Wels will play against Dukes and hope to get back on the winning track.
