No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Weiterstadt (9-10) beat on the road 12th ranked Trier (1-18) 69-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Weiterstadt led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Trier's 32. Weiterstadt forced 19 Trier turnovers. Quite impressive performance for forward Kristin Annawald (184-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Lara Muller (178) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Weiterstadt players scored in double figures. Forward Leonie Edringer (182-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks (made all of her seven free throws) and point guard Sabrina Thomas (163-87) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) in the effort for Trier. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Weiterstadt. They maintain seventh place in South with 9-10 record. Trier lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Weiterstadt will face higher ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trier will play against Friendsfactory Germering (#8) and hope to win that game.
