Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Mamak DSI (8-15) lost to sixth ranked Meliksah (15-8) in Ankara 68-74. Mamak DSI was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 32-24 second half run of Meliksah. It was a great evening for American point guard Leemire Goldwire (182-85, college: Charlotte, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) helped adding 9 points and 11 rebounds. Meliksah's coach Murat Askin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Rifat Murat Kaya (194-84, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Meliksah have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Mamak DSI at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with I.T.U.. Meliksah will play against Gediz (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mamak DSI will play against Pertevniyal in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
