Regular Season Round 13: Kyiv-Vovcha - Avangard 83-109

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Kyiv: Avangard (#2) and Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya (#8). Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya was crushed at home by 26 points 83-109 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. Avangard led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Avangard outrebounded Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya 46-25 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Forward Egor Maslyuchenko (200-90) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Vladlen Berezhnyy (199-95) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Avangard players scored in double figures. Coach Andrei Podkovyrov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Anton Musienko (190-97) responded with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Illya Tyrtyshnyk (190-98) scored 18 points. Avangard have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-7 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Zolotoi Vek. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Avangard will play against Khimik-2 (#5) in Yuzhny in the next round. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya will play at home against Zaporozhye and hopes to get back on the winning track.
