Regular Season Round 28: Halychyna - Mykolaiv 94-59

Bottom-ranked Halychyna managed to get the fourth consecutive victory. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Mykolaiv in Lviv 94-59. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 35-point difference proves that Halychyna was well-prepared to that game. It looked good early as Mykolaiv took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Halychyna had a 31-8 second period charge getting the lead and Mykolaiv was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-94. Halychyna dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 24. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 58-16 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Halychyna players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Mykolaiv's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Nikola Polyulyak (192-90) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Halychyna players scored in double figures. point guard Vladyslav Tonchenko (185-89) replied with 17 points and 4 assists and forward Mykhaylo Galenko (186-92) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Mykolaiv. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Halychyna have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain eleventh position with 5-20 record. Mykolaiv lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
