No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked EWE Baskets (13-10) won against on the road 17th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (6-18) 70-64. Strangely Eisbaeren Bremerhaven outrebounded EWE Baskets 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) who scored that evening 19 points and the other American import swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) supported him with 13 points. Even 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) did not help to save the game for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. American power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EWE Baskets maintains sixth position with 13-10 record. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side keeps the seventeenth place with 18 games lost. EWE Baskets will play against bottom-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#18) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against ratiopharm Ulm and hopes to get back on the winning track.
