Eleventh-ranked Royal Hali (8-12) made lots of trouble for third ranked Darussafaka (14-6) in Gaziantep. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Royal Hali. It looked good early as Royal Hali took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Darussafaka had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Royal Hali was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-72. Darussafaka made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Royal Hali 46-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Royal Hali helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by naturalized American power forward Ersin Dagli (203-81, college: Alabama, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 14 points and 9 rebounds and American Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-84, college: Virginia Tech) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Royal Hali. His fellow American import guard Cory Higgins (195-89, college: Colorado, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Four Royal Hali players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Darussafaka maintains third position with 14-6 record having just two points less than leader Fener.Ulker. Royal Hali at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Darussafaka's next round opponent will be Banvit BK (#5) in Balikesir.
