Rather expected game when 7th ranked Hannover (8-11) lost to fifth ranked SG BBZ Opladen (12-7) in Leverkusen 55-59 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 4 points. SG BBZ Opladen dominated on the defensive end, holding Hannover to just 5 points in second quarter. Quite impressive performance for American guard Nicole Nesbit (165-92, college: UCSB) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Center Mareike Nettersheim (186) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Rayven Johnson (176-91, college: NJIT) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hannover. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SG BBZ Opladen maintains fifth place in North with 12-7 record. Loser Hannover keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. SG BBZ Opladen will face Barmer TV (#9) in Wuppertal in the next round. Hannover will play at home against Zehlendorf and hope to win that game.
