Rather predictable result in Carcavelos where second ranked Lombos Quinta (18-1) smashed 5th ranked AD Vagos (11-8) 73-53 on Sunday. The game without a history. Lombos Quinta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to AD Vagos' 32. It was a great evening for American guard Shanel Harrison (182-90, college: La Salle) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Marcia Costa helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. Lombos Quinta's coach Jose Leite used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international swingman Daniela Domingues (176-92) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American center Jessica Lawson (191-86, college: S.Florida) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Lombos Quinta have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 18-1 record behind leader CAB Madeira. AD Vagos at the other side keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Lombos Quinta will face league's leader CAB Madeira in Funchal in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AD Vagos will play at home against Uniao Sportiva (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
