Regular Season Round 19: Viernheim - Bamberg 58-71

2.Bundesliga top team - Don Bosco Bamberg (18-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked TSV Amicitia (5-14) in Viernheim 71-58. The game was mostly controlled by Don Bosco Bamberg. TSV Amicitia was better in fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Don Bosco Bamberg forced 22 TSV Amicitia turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Lyndi Thorman (190-90, college: UTSA) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Center Nadjeschda Ilmberger (187-96) helped adding 10 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Jennifer Mocanu (172-90) responded with 23 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Canadian center Diane Schuetze (190-90) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Don Bosco Bamberg. They maintain first place in South with 18-1 record. TSV Amicitia at the other side keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against league's second-placed Gruner Stern Keltern on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TSV Amicitia will play against Muenchen B. (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
