There was no surprise in Alytus where 9th ranked Tonybet (6-22) was crushed by sixth ranked Dzukija (16-12) 101-74 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 27 points. Dzukija forced 26 Tonybet turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Russian Fedor Dmitriev (205-84, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Dzukija's coach Andrej Urlep felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) with 15 points and 5 rebounds and center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Tonybet players scored in double figures. Dzukija have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 16-12 record. Tonybet lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 22 games lost. Dzukija will meet higher ranked P.Zvaigzdes (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tonybet will play against the league's second-placed Neptunas (#2) in Klaipeda and hope to secure a win.
