Regular Season Round 31: Neptunas - Tonybet 98-59

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Neptunas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Neptunas smashed 9th ranked Tonybet in Klaipeda 98-59. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tonybet's 34. Neptunas forced 20 Tonybet turnovers and outrebounded them 43-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Vytautas Sarakauskas (205-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Power forward Simas Galdikas (204-87) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) answered with 32 points and 6 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and forward Paulius Ivanauskas (195-87) added 0 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists in the effort for Tonybet. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tonybet lost fifteenth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 24 games lost. Tonybet will play next round against strong Zalgiris trying to get back on the winning streak. Neptunas will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius.
