There was no surprise when 10th ranked Aalborg (2-23) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Naestved (12-13) 83-63 on Thursday. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Aalborg's 34. They outrebounded Aalborg 41-19 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naestved looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Aalborg's players. South African center Christopher Gabriel (210-88, college: San Diego) stepped up and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international forward Alexander Bak (193-91) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Gabriel is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Naestved players scored in double figures. Naestved's coach Bogdan Karaicic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
