Second Stage Round 14: Delikatesas - Silute 89-86

Thirteenth-ranked Silute (13-24) was very close to win a game against ninth ranked Delikatesas (19-18) in Joniskis on Friday. Delikatesas managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Silute won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Delikatesas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Nerijus Anglickis (212-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Mantas Kadzevicius (194-91) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard Bryce Cartwright (189-90, college: Iowa) replied with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Edvinas Alunderis (202-92) added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Silute. Four Delikatesas and five Silute players scored in double figures. Delikatesas maintains ninth position with 19-18 record. Loser Silute keeps the thirteenth place with 24 games lost. Delikatesas will face Vilniaus (#12) in Vilnius in the next round. Silute will play at home against Palanga and hope to win that game.
