There was an upset when higher ranked Lichterfelde (10-10) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Hagen Phoenix (4-16) 91-83 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lichterfelde won third quarter 28-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lichterfelde was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Elina Stahmeyer (180-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) who added 26 points during the contest. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) responded with 29 points and point guard Kristin Greiner (169) scored 23 points. Hagen Phoenix maintains eleventh position in North with 4-16 record. Loser Lichterfelde keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Hagen Phoenix will face higher ranked SG BBZ Opladen (#5) in Leverkusen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
