Very expected game when 15th ranked Tofas (7-14) lost to ninth ranked Turk Telekom (10-11) in Bursa 67-72 on Saturday. Tofas was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a good game for the former international forward Evren Buker (195-85) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian center Milovan Rakovic (208-85, agency: APAA Sports Group) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. International Samet Geyik (205-93) answered with 9 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Tofas. Tofas' coach Ilias Zouros gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Turk Telekom moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Trabzonspor. Loser Tofas dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Turk Telekom will face higher ranked Karsiyaka (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tofas will play against Royal Hali (#10) in Gaziantep and hope to win that game.
