Regular Season Round 23: Dragons - Karlsruhe 95-72

An interesting game for Dragons Rhoendorf (14-8) which hosted in Rhoendorf 4th placed BG Karlsruhe (12-10). Third ranked Dragons Rhoendorf had an easy win 95-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BG Karlsruhe. Dragons Rhoendorf players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by BG Karlsruhe's players. It was a great evening for American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Fabian Thuelig (199-89) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Naturalized American guard Kenny Fluellen (190-90, college: Paine) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Jimmy Dorsey (188-89) scored 19 points and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dragons Rhoendorf have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place in Group South with 14-8 record having four points less than leader Iserlohn. BG Karlsruhe at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Wuerzburg.
