Regular Season Round 20: Edirne - Botas 67-64

The most exciting game of round 20 in the TKBL took place in Edirne. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Botas (9-11) to eighth ranked Edirne (10-10) 67-64 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-16. But Botas won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Botas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Belarusian guard Lindsey Harding (173-84, college: Duke) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American swingman Marissa Coleman (185-87, college: Maryland) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Theresa Plaisance (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Botas. Botas' coach Ceyhun Yildizoglu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Edirne moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Besiktas. Botas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Orduspor. Edirne is looking forward to face Hatay (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Botas will play against Istanbul Universitesi (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
