Regular Season Round 20: Braunschweig - Wolfenbuettel 62-65

Date: March 7, 2015
Very predictable result when third ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (15-5) edged on the road 10th ranked Braunschweig (8-12) 65-62 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Braunschweig won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel shot 28 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Braunschweig only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded Braunschweig 45-32 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Braunschweig was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (184-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian forward Raelyn Prince (191-88) who added 5 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. American guard Sade Jackson (177, college: Adelphi) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Anna-Jessica Weber (180) scored 12 points. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in North with 15-5 record behind leader Veilchen. Braunschweig lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will face league's second-placed Osnabruck at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braunschweig will play against Lichterfelde (#6) and hope to win that game.
