Important game to mention about took place in Quakenbrueck. Eleventh ranked Braunschweig (12-13) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Artland Dragons (12-13) 78-75 in the fight for the ninth place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Artland Dragons won fourth quarter 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Artland Dragons were plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Derrick Allen (203-80, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron, agency: LUMANI 10.7) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and center Kenny Frease (212-89, college: Xavier) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Artland Dragons. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Braunschweig moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Braunschweig will play against higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Artland Dragons will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#8) in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
