Everything went according to plan when second ranked Buyukcekmece (19-5) beat on the road 15th ranked Istanbul DSI (6-18) 86-79 on Saturday. Istanbul DSI trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 28-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-86 at the end of the game. Buyukcekmece dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Istanbul DSI's 26 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Istanbul DSI was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard D.J. Thompson (173-85, college: Appalachian St.) who added 14 points and 8 assists during the contest. Buyukcekmece's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and American forward Esian Henderson (206-86, college: Central Mo.) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Buyukcekmece keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Denizli. Loser Istanbul DSI dropped to the sixteenth place with 18 games lost. Buyukcekmece will face Adanaspor (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul DSI will play against Balikesir (#4) and hope to win that game.
