Regular Season Round 18: Vitoria SC - CAB Madeira 82-60

Date: March 7, 2015
There was no surprise in Guimaraes where 4th ranked CAB Madeira (10-8) was crushed by second ranked Vitoria SC (15-3) 82-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vitoria SC. CAB Madeira was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was international forward Joao Balseiro (192-87) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Doug Wiggins (185-88, college: Mountain St.) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four Vitoria SC players scored in double figures. Vitoria SC's coach Fernando Sa felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Tommie Eddie (201-82, college: Mississippi) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Serbian Stefan Djukic (202-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 12 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Vitoria SC have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-3 record behind leader Benfica. CAB Madeira at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Vitoria SC will face Alges (#5) on the road in the next round. CAB Madeira will play against Lusitania and hope to win that game.
