Second Stage Round 6: Amager - Stevnsgade 56-60

Top ranked Amager (4-2) recorded its second loss in Kastrup on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Stevnsgade (3-3) 60-56. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Places 1-4. Amager was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Stevnsgade forced 21 Amager turnovers. Strangely Amager outrebounded Stevnsgade 39-25 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Ida Pretzmann (178-90, college: TCU) who scored 16 points. Forward Cecilie Homann (185-89) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Lauren Gregory (185-87, college: Vanguard) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Julie Jungslund (165-98) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Stevnsgade moved-up to second place in Places 1-4, which they share with Horsholm. Amager at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.
