Regular Season Round 28: Oberwart - Gussing 70-73

Seventh-ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (13-15) gave a tough game to second ranked Gussing Knights (20-8) on Sunday. The visitors from Gussing managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Redwell Gunners Oberwart was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Gussing Knights made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St.) fired 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) chipped in 9 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Rakeem Buckles (201-90, college: FIU) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Hannes Ochsenhofer (185-85) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Redwell Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Gussing Knights have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Zepter Vienna. Loser Redwell Gunners Oberwart keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. Gussing Knights will meet Raiffeisen Wels (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play against UBSC Graz (#10) and hope to secure a win.
