Everything went according to plan in Langen where sixth ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (11-9) outscored 9th ranked Rhein MB II (6-14) 73-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Speyer / Schifferstadt. Rhein MB II was better in second period 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Speyer / Schifferstadt dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rhein MB II's 32. Speyer / Schifferstadt forced 20 Rhein MB II turnovers and outrebounded them 52-32 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Speyer / Schifferstadt moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Mainz. Loser Rhein MB II keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Speyer / Schifferstadt will face Weiterstadt (#8) at home in the next round. Rhein MB II will play against ASC Theresianum Mainz and hope to win that game.
