Second Stage Round 8: Interkhim - Suzirja 83-60

An interesting game for Interkhim (4-1) which hosted in Odessa 4th ranked Suzirja (2-4). Second ranked Interkhim had an easy win 83-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Suzirja. The game without a history. Interkhim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Suzirja's 26. They outrebounded Suzirja 47-22 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Olga Borisenko (185-90) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Kateryna Kovalyova (185-89) who added 9 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Interkhim's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Liudmila Spyrydonova responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Oleksandra Popenko (170-98) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Interkhim maintains second position with 4-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Dynamo-NPU. Suzirja at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Interkhim will play against league's leader Dynamo-NPU in Kyiv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Suzirja will play at home against Blyskavky and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
