The game in Hamburg was also quite interesting. Third ranked Giessen 46ers (19-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Hamburg (13-13). Giessen 46ers defeated Hamburg 78-67 on Sunday. Giessen 46ers forced 20 Hamburg turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Giessen 46ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Hamburg's coach Hamed Attarbashi let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Giessen 46ers have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nuernberg. Hamburg lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Heidelberg. Giessen 46ers will meet SC Rasta Vechta (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hamburg will play against Bayer Giants in Leverkusen and hope to secure a win.
