Regular Season Round 31: Siauliai - Lietkabelis 96-58

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Siauliai's (13-15) home victory over 8th ranked Lietkabelis (9-20) 96-58 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliai. Lietkabelis managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) who led the winners and scored 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St.) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. Coach Gediminas Petrauskas's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Noah Dahlman (201-89, college: Wofford) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Canadian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) added 15 points and 4 steals respectively for Lietkabelis in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Siauliai. They maintain seventh place with 13-15 record. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the eighth position with 20 games lost. Siauliai will meet at home higher ranked Dzukija (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lietkabelis will play against Juventus in Utena and hope to secure a win.
