Regular Season Round 29: Zepter Vienna - Furstenfeld 85-77

There was no surprise in Wien where 9th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (6-23) were defeated by second ranked Zepter Vienna (21-8) 85-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 30-23. But Furstenfeld Panthers won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zepter Vienna made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) nailed 17 points and 7 assists for the winning side and Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) accounted for 20 points. American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian Marko Car (188-85) added 20 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for Furstenfeld Panthers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zepter Vienna keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gussing. Furstenfeld Panthers at the other side keep the ninth place with 23 games lost. Zepter Vienna's next round opponent will be Arkadia Lions (#8) in Traiskirchen and are hoping to win another game. Furstenfeld Panthers will play at home against Dukes and hope to win that game.
